Overview

A glycoconjugate vaccine designed to induce an immune response against Group B Streptococcus (GBS) serotypes Ib and III. It utilizes CRM197, a non-toxic mutant of diphtheria toxin, as a carrier protein to enhance the immunogenicity of the GBS capsular polysaccharides. This vaccine was developed by Novartis Vaccines, which later became part of GlaxoSmithKline. It was investigated for the prevention of GBS infections, particularly through maternal immunization to protect neonates.
