Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of growth hormone (GH) and liraglutide being investigated for potential effects on metabolism and diabetes management. Growth hormone is a peptide hormone that stimulates growth, cell reproduction, and regeneration, while liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist used for treating type 2 diabetes and obesity. Research has shown that while liraglutide significantly reduces food intake, improves glucose tolerance, and enhances insulin sensitivity, the addition of growth hormone does not significantly augment these beneficial effects in experimental models.
