Overview

Growth hormone releasing hormone 1-44 is a synthetic peptide identical to the endogenous hypothalamic peptide consisting of 44 amino acids. It stimulates the synthesis and release of growth hormone (GH) from the anterior pituitary gland by binding to specific receptors on pituitary somatotrophs. This action is mediated through activation of the G protein-coupled receptor for GHRH, leading to increased cyclic AMP and subsequent GH secretion. Growth hormone releasing hormone 1-44 has been used in research and clinical settings to assess pituitary function and as a potential therapy for conditions associated with GH deficiency or dysregulation. It also plays roles in cell proliferation, tissue repair, metabolic regulation via IGF-1 stimulation, and has been investigated for therapeutic applications in diabetes, cancer modulation, wound healing, neurodegeneration, cardiovascular diseases, and other chronic conditions[1][3][5][6].
