Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GRT-001 is a first-in-class monoclonal antibody developed by Granite Bio AG for the treatment of autoimmune, inflammatory, and fibrotic diseases. Its novel mechanism of action involves the selective depletion of pathogenic pro-inflammatory monocytes through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP), while sparing tissue-resident macrophages that are important for tissue homeostasis. This approach targets fundamental drivers of inflammation and autoimmunity at their source. Preclinical studies in non-human primates demonstrated efficient and dose-dependent depletion of pro-inflammatory monocytes with good tolerability. As of mid-2025, GRT-001 is in Phase 1a clinical testing in healthy volunteers and is expected to enter Phase 1b trials in patients with inflammatory bowel disease later this year[4][5][9].
