Overview

GRT6010 is a novel small molecule analgesic developed by Grünenthal for the treatment of neuropathic pain and other pain conditions. It acts as an agonist at the nociceptin opioid receptor (NOP, also known as OOR), which is distinct from classical opioid receptors. By activating this receptor, it was hypothesized to provide analgesia with potentially fewer side effects than traditional opioids. The drug underwent phase 2 clinical trials for neuropathic pain and bladder pain syndrome but development was discontinued after these studies[1][2][3][7].
