Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**GRT7014** is Grünenthal's investigational immediate-release, abuse-deterrent fixed-dose oral tablet containing hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen. It was evaluated in Phase 1 relative-bioavailability studies against marketed hydrocodone/acetaminophen tablets in healthy adults under fasted and fed conditions. Hydrocodone provides opioid analgesia primarily through agonism of the mu-type opioid receptor, while acetaminophen contributes analgesic and antipyretic activity through mechanisms that are not fully characterized. The program was intended for the treatment of pain, but the identified Phase 1 studies were withdrawn.
