Overview

GRX1462 is an experimental aptamer-toxin conjugate (ATC) being developed by Band Therapeutics (also known as Guardian Therapeutics) for the treatment of various cancers. It consists of a high-affinity nucleic acid aptamer that specifically targets the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 3 (HER3), a protein often overexpressed in solid tumors and associated with poor prognosis. The aptamer is conjugated to a cytotoxic toxin payload. Upon binding to HER3 on the surface of malignant cells, the conjugate is internalized via receptor-mediated endocytosis, delivering the toxin directly into the cell to induce apoptosis. This targeted delivery mechanism is intended to maximize anti-tumor activity while minimizing systemic side effects. The program is currently in the preclinical development stage.
