GS-0415

GS-0415 is an investigational, long-acting small molecule HIV-1 capsid inhibitor being developed by Gilead Sciences for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. It targets the HIV-1 capsid protein (p24), a structural component essential for several stages of the viral replication cycle. By binding to the capsid, GS-0415 disrupts multiple essential processes, including capsid-mediated nuclear import of the viral genome, virion assembly, and maturation. The drug is designed for infrequent dosing and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in virologically suppressed people living with HIV-1, with both subcutaneous and intravenous administration routes being explored.
