GS-2328

GS-2328 is a second-generation, small molecule HIV-1 capsid inhibitor being developed by Gilead Sciences. It is designed to target the HIV-1 capsid protein (CA), a structural protein essential for several stages of the viral replication cycle. By binding to the FG-binding pocket of the CA hexamer, GS-2328 interferes with the nuclear import of the viral pre-integration complex, the assembly of new virions, and the proper formation of the capsid shell during maturation. Optimized for high potency and a long-acting pharmacokinetic profile, GS-2328 is being evaluated as a potential component of long-acting injectable regimens for both the treatment and prevention of HIV-1 infection.
