Overview

GS-6779 is a nonreplicating arenavirus vector therapeutic vaccine developed for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B (CHB). It is designed to stimulate the immune system to target and clear the Hepatitis B virus. The drug is administered intramuscularly and is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1a/1b clinical study to assess its safety and tolerability in healthy participants and those with chronic Hepatitis B. Initially developed through a collaboration between HOOKIPA Pharma and Gilead Sciences, the program was later fully acquired by Gilead Sciences, which is now solely responsible for its further development and commercialization.
