Overview

GS07 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody developed by the South Korean biopharmaceutical company Aprogen that targets tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). It is a biosimilar of the reference biologic product Remicade (infliximab). GS07 functions as a TNF-alpha inhibitor by binding with high affinity to both soluble and transmembrane forms of TNF-alpha, a key proinflammatory cytokine involved in the pathogenesis of various immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. By neutralizing TNF-alpha, GS07 prevents the cytokine from binding to its receptors, thereby inhibiting the downstream inflammatory cascade. The drug is indicated for the treatment of several autoimmune conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, ankylosing spondylitis, and plaque psoriasis. GS07 is marketed in certain territories, notably in Japan through a partnership with Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical, and Aprogen is recognized for its early contributions to the biosimilar field in South Korea.
