Overview

GS24-B044 is an inhaled small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic candidate being developed by North America Genescience (GenSci) for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchiectasis. Developed using GenSci's proprietary Extrahepatic siRNA GPODS™ Platform, GS24-B044 is designed to target and downregulate Mucin-5AC (MUC5AC), a major gel-forming mucin that is overproduced in the airways of patients with chronic inflammatory lung diseases. By silencing MUC5AC expression directly in the lungs via inhalation, the therapy aims to reduce mucus hypersecretion, alleviate airway obstruction, and improve lung function. GS24-B044 is currently in the preclinical candidate (PCC) stage of development.
