Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GS3-007a is an investigational oral dry suspension formulation of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) being developed by Changchun GeneScience Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (GenSci) for the treatment of pediatric growth hormone deficiency (PGHD). Unlike traditional rhGH therapies that require daily or weekly subcutaneous injections, GS3-007a is designed for oral administration, which may significantly improve patient compliance and quality of life. The drug acts as an agonist at the growth hormone receptor, mimicking the effects of endogenous growth hormone to stimulate the production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), thereby promoting linear growth and metabolic health in children. It is currently being evaluated in Phase Ib/II clinical trials to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy compared to standard injectable rhGH.
