Overview

GS300 is an orally administered, non-absorbed, proprietary hydrogel developed by Gelesis for the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), obesity, and potentially related metabolic disorders. Taken before meals, GS300 capsules mix with ingested food and increase the elasticity and volume of the stomach and small intestine contents, promoting satiety and reducing food intake. Preclinical data suggest GS300 may reduce weight, decrease hepatic fat, improve intestinal barrier function, and mitigate high fat diet-induced intestinal alterations and hepatic steatosis. GS300 is currently being investigated in clinical trials for NAFLD and related metabolic conditions.
