Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GSE SIMIL-ONE is a topical dermatological product developed by Prodeco Pharma for the treatment of skin irritation, redness, and itching of various origins. It is formulated as a cream or gel containing a combination of plant-based active ingredients, including Aloe vera gel polysaccharides, Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE, from Citrus x paradisi), Xanthan gum, and Carboxymethyl-beta-glucan sodium salt, along with a proprietary complex known as Biosterine. The product works by creating a physical protective barrier on the skin, which helps maintain optimal hydration levels and promotes a microbiologically controlled environment. Clinical studies have indicated that the formulation can reduce the release of leukotriene B4 (LTB4), a key mediator in itch signaling, and improve skin barrier function and hydration in individuals with atopic-prone skin.
