Overview

**GSK 732462**, also designated **SB732462** and described in publications as **F4/AS01B**, was GSK's investigational therapeutic HIV-1 vaccine for people already infected with HIV-1. It combined the recombinant F4 fusion antigen, incorporating HIV-1 clade B p17, p24, reverse transcriptase, and Nef antigens, with GSK's AS01B adjuvant system. The vaccine was designed to amplify HIV-specific cellular immunity, particularly polyfunctional CD4-positive T-cell responses, with the intended goal of improving control of viral replication and potentially delaying antiretroviral-therapy initiation. Phase I and Phase II studies found it generally safe and immunogenic, but the Phase IIb trial did not demonstrate viral-load efficacy in ART-naive adults with HIV-1 infection.
