Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GSK1024850A is an investigational biologic vaccine candidate developed by GSK to provide broad protection against *Streptococcus pneumoniae* and *Haemophilus influenzae*. Unlike traditional conjugate vaccines that target specific polysaccharide serotypes, this vaccine incorporates two highly conserved pneumococcal surface proteins: pneumolysin toxoid (dPly) and pneumococcal histidine triad protein D (PhtD). These proteins are intended to elicit a cross-reactive immune response across multiple pneumococcal strains. In clinical trials, it has been evaluated both as a standalone protein vaccine and in combination with GSK's 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PHiD-CV, Synflorix).
