Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GSK1440115 is an orally active, small molecule antagonist of the urotensin II receptor (UTS2R/UT receptor), developed by GSK for the treatment of asthma. It acts as a competitive and selective inhibitor of the UT receptor, which is implicated in respiratory physiology and has been studied as a therapeutic target in asthma. Clinical studies have shown that GSK1440115 was safe and well-tolerated in both healthy subjects and asthmatic patients; however, no significant bronchodilator effect or improvement in lung function endpoints was observed. The drug reached Phase I clinical trials but there have been no recent reports of further development[1][2][3][4][5].
