Overview

GSK1795091 is a synthetic glycolipid and a potent toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist with potential immunoadjuvant activity. Upon administration, it binds to and activates TLR4 on innate immune cells such as dendritic cells, monocytes, and macrophages. This activation stimulates the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines including interferon gamma (IFN-g), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), IL-6, and IL-12. The resulting immune response can induce a T helper cell type 1 (Th1) response and enhance cytotoxic T lymphocyte activity against tumor-associated antigens when co-administered with vaccines or in combination with other immunotherapies. GSK1795091 has been evaluated primarily for its use as an immuno-oncology agent in advanced malignant solid neoplasms and as a vaccine adjuvant to enhance both mucosal and systemic immunity[2][6][7].
