GSK2190915 acts by blocking leukotriene biosynthesis, reducing airway inflammation, while rosuvastatin inhibits hepatic cholesterol synthesis. This specific combination has been studied to assess potential pharmacokinetic interactions, as GSK2190915 is an in vitro inhibitor of the human hepatic transporter proteins OATP1B1 and OATP1B3, which are involved in the hepatic uptake of rosuvastatin. The combination is not an approved fixed-dose product, but was explored in clinical research to evaluate drug-drug interaction and safety in healthy subjects[1][3][5][7].
