GSK2330811 is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) that targets and inhibits oncostatin M (OSM), a cytokine implicated in the pathology of inflammatory and fibrotic diseases such as systemic sclerosis (SSc) and Crohn's disease. By binding to OSM, GSK2330811 blocks its signaling pathways, which are involved in inflammation, fibrosis, and vasculopathy. The drug was investigated primarily for systemic sclerosis—including diffuse cutaneous forms—and Crohn's disease. Clinical studies demonstrated high target engagement but did not show meaningful clinical efficacy or favorable safety at higher doses due to dose-dependent adverse events like reductions in hemoglobin and platelet count[3][4][8]. Development has been discontinued for these indications.
