GSK256066

GSK256066 is a highly potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4), with sub-picomolar affinity for the PDE4B isoform. It was developed by GSK for inhaled administration to treat respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and seasonal allergic rhinitis. The drug demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing both early and late asthmatic responses in clinical trials but was designed to minimize systemic side effects commonly associated with oral PDE4 inhibitors. Despite promising results in phase II trials across several indications, development of GSK256066 has been terminated[1][5][6].
