GSK2654911A is a monovalent inactivated influenza vaccine candidate developed by GSK for the prevention of infection caused by the H9N2 subtype of the Influenza A virus. Manufactured at GSK's facility in Quebec, Canada, it is often referred to in clinical literature as Q-H9N2 to distinguish it from versions produced at other sites. The vaccine contains purified hemagglutinin (HA) antigen and has been evaluated in clinical trials both with and without the AS03 adjuvant system. It is part of a pandemic preparedness strategy, as H9N2 avian influenza viruses are considered to have significant zoonotic potential and could pose a threat to human populations.
