Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GSK2830930A is an investigational formulation of GlaxoSmithKline's pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV). It is a 10-valent vaccine (PHiD-CV) designed to provide active immunization against invasive disease, pneumonia, and acute otitis media caused by *Streptococcus pneumoniae* serotypes 1, 4, 5, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19F, and 23F. The vaccine utilizes the non-typeable *Haemophilus influenzae* (NTHi) protein D as a carrier protein for eight of the serotypes, while tetanus toxoid and diphtheria toxoid are used for the remaining two. GSK2830930A was evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to assess its safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity in infants and toddlers, often in comparison with other candidate formulations and co-administered with routine pediatric vaccines like Infanrix hexa.
