Overview

GSK2838504A is an investigational **AS01E-adjuvanted recombinant protein subunit vaccine** developed by GSK to prevent infections and potentially reduce exacerbation risk associated with non-typeable *Haemophilus influenzae* in adults with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The vaccine contains recombinant non-typeable *Haemophilus influenzae* protein D and a recombinant fusion protein comprising protein E and Pilin A. In the Phase 2 COPD study NCT02075541, it was administered intramuscularly on a 0- and 2-month schedule and demonstrated an acceptable safety/reactogenicity profile with vaccine antigen-specific humoral and CD4-positive T-cell responses.
