Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GSK3052230 + docetaxel is a combination therapy consisting of GSK3052230 (also known as FP-1039) and docetaxel. GSK3052230 is a soluble fusion protein that acts as a fibroblast growth factor (FGF) ligand trap, consisting of the extracellular domains of human FGFR1 α-IIIc linked to the modified hinge and native Fc regions of human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1). It works by sequestering FGFs involved in tumor growth and angiogenesis, preventing these signaling proteins from reaching FGFR1 on tumor cells. Importantly, GSK3052230 has a relatively low affinity for hormonal FGFs (FGF19, FGF21, and FGF23), which helps avoid toxicities associated with small molecule FGFR inhibitors. Docetaxel is a chemotherapy agent. This combination was specifically studied in FGFR1-amplified squamous non-small cell lung cancer (sqNSCLC) in the second-line setting.
