GSK3528869A is an investigational therapeutic vaccine developed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B infection. It is a three-component vaccine comprising (1) ChAd155-hIi-HBV, a replication-defective simian adenovirus vector encoding truncated hepatitis B core antigen (HBcAg) and full-length small hepatitis B surface antigen (S-HBsAg); (2) MVA-HBV, a modified vaccinia Ankara virus encoding the same HBV antigens; and (3) HBc-HBs/AS01B-4, which includes these antigens enhanced by the AS01B-4 adjuvant—a liposomal combination of 3-O-desacyl-4'-monophosphoryl lipid A and QS-21 saponin. The vaccine aims to stimulate robust immune responses against HBV antigens in patients with chronic hepatitis B, potentially enabling better viral control or clearance[2][1][7]. It is being developed by GSK and has been studied in sequential regimens with bepirovirsen, an antisense oligonucleotide targeting HBV RNA[5].
