Overview

GSK3858279 is a first-in-class, high-affinity, peripherally acting human monoclonal antibody that targets C-C motif chemokine ligand 17 (CCL17). By binding to CCL17, the antibody prevents its interaction with the G-protein-coupled C-C motif chemokine receptor type 4 (CCR4), thereby blocking downstream signaling pathways involved in immune cell chemotaxis and peripheral nociception. Developed by GSK, it is being investigated as a non-opioid, non-NSAID analgesic for chronic pain conditions, including knee osteoarthritis and diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain (DPNP). Clinical studies have demonstrated that GSK3858279 can induce clinically meaningful improvements in pain intensity and physical function with a favorable safety and tolerability profile.
