Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GSK3888550A is an investigational unadjuvanted respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine developed by GSK for maternal immunization. It is administered intramuscularly and designed to stimulate the immune system to protect against RSV infection in mothers and their infants. The primary mechanism of action is immunostimulation against the RSV F glycoprotein in its pre-fusion conformation. The vaccine has been evaluated in multiple phase III clinical trials for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus infections but some trials have been terminated based on recommendations from independent data monitoring committees[5][6].
