GSK3993129 is an investigational adjuvanted recombinant protein subunit cytomegalovirus (CMV) vaccine being developed by GSK to prevent CMV infection, particularly congenital CMV disease.[1][3][13] It is a CMV subunit (CMVsu) vaccine that combines the viral glycoprotein B (gB) antigen with an adjuvanted pentameric complex antigen, designed to induce robust neutralizing antibodies against CMV entry into multiple cell types.[3][5][13] The vaccine is in Phase II clinical development, including Phase I/II studies in healthy adults, and aims to reduce primary CMV infection and associated complications in at-risk populations such as women of childbearing age and their offspring.[1][4][7][9][12][13]
