Developed by GSK, the antibody specifically targets the circumsporozoite protein (PfCSP), which is the dominant surface protein on the malaria parasite during the sporozoite stage. By binding to the PfCSP, GSK4425689A neutralizes the sporozoites injected by mosquitoes, preventing them from invading liver cells and establishing a productive infection.
