Overview

GSK4532990 is an investigational GalNAc-conjugated small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic designed to target and inhibit the expression of hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 13 (HSD17B13), a liver protein implicated in the development and progression of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and alcohol-related liver disease (ALD)[1][2][5][7]. By reducing HSD17B13 expression through RNA interference, the drug aims to decrease inflammation, fat accumulation, and fibrosis in the liver. It is administered via subcutaneous injection. The drug was originally developed by Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals as ARO-HSD and later licensed to GSK for further development outside Greater China[2][6]. Clinical trials are ongoing for both NASH and ALD[1][3][4].
