Overview

GSK5800544A is an mRNA-based multivalent seasonal influenza vaccine candidate developed by GSK. It is part of a portfolio of mRNA vaccines designed to provide protection against multiple strains of the influenza virus, including Influenza A and Influenza B. The vaccine works by delivering mRNA sequences that encode for viral antigens, such as hemagglutinin, into host cells, which then express these proteins to elicit a robust immune response. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials (e.g., NCT05853562) to determine the optimal dose and assess safety and immunogenicity in healthy younger and older adults compared to traditional inactivated influenza vaccines.
