Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GT-055 (also known as LCB18-055) is a novel broad-spectrum β-lactamase inhibitor belonging to the diazabicyclooctane (DBO) class. Developed by LegoChem Biosciences in collaboration with Geom Therapeutics, GT-055 is designed to target serine-type β-lactamases, thereby restoring the efficacy of β-lactam antibiotics against resistant bacterial strains. Uniquely, GT-055 also possesses intrinsic antibacterial activity through the inhibition of penicillin-binding protein 2 (PBP2), particularly against *Escherichia coli* and *Klebsiella pneumoniae*. It is being evaluated both as a standalone agent and in combination with the siderophore-linked cephalosporin GT-1 (LCB10-0200) for the treatment of multi-drug resistant (MDR) Gram-negative infections and biothreat pathogens.
