Overview

GT1708F is an orally bioavailable small molecule Smoothened (SMO) antagonist developed by Kintor Pharmaceutical Limited. By targeting the SMO protein, a key transmembrane component of the Hedgehog signaling pathway, the drug inhibits aberrant signaling associated with various cancers and fibrotic diseases. GT1708F is primarily being investigated for the treatment of myeloid malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Phase I clinical trials in China have demonstrated that the compound is safe and well-tolerated, exhibiting rapid absorption and quasi-linear pharmacokinetics. In October 2023, the drug received conditional approval from the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) to proceed into Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of IPF.
