Overview

GT201 is a genetically engineered autologous tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy developed by Grit Biotechnology for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The product consists of TILs derived from each patient's resected tumor, expanded ex vivo, and engineered to express membrane-bound interleukin-15 (mbIL-15). This modification enhances T-cell survival, proliferation, and antitumor activity within the tumor microenvironment. Unlike traditional TIL therapies that rely heavily on exogenous IL-2 administration for cell expansion and persistence, GT201’s mbIL-15 expression reduces this dependency while improving in vivo expansion and long-term efficacy. Early clinical studies have demonstrated good tolerability and encouraging preliminary antitumor activity as monotherapy or in combination with PD-1 inhibitors in patients with advanced or refractory solid tumors[1][3][4][5][6][7][10].
