GTC-3295 is an orally available, brain-penetrant small molecule therapeutic candidate developed by Gismo Therapeutics using its proprietary Glycosaminoglycan-Interacting Small Molecule (GISMO) platform. It is designed to act as a dual inhibitor of amyloid-beta and tau interactions with heparan sulfate glycosaminoglycans (HS-GAGs). By blocking these interactions, GTC-3295 aims to prevent the internalization, aggregation, and propagation of toxic amyloid-beta and tau proteopathic seeds in the brain. The drug is currently undergoing IND-enabling preclinical studies for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, supported by SBIR grants from the National Institute on Aging.
