Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gu-Shen Ding-Chuan-Wan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed and manufactured by Guangzhou Baiyunshan Jingxiutang Pharmaceutical. It is traditionally indicated for respiratory conditions, functioning to tonify the kidney and lung to alleviate asthma and chronic cough. The formulation is typically used for patients presenting with Lung-Spleen Qi Deficiency (Fei-Pi-Qi-Xu) syndrome. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was investigated in clinical trials for its potential to aid in the recovery phase of novel coronavirus pneumonia, specifically targeting the rehabilitation of lung function and overall vitality in post-acute patients. As a complex herbal mixture, its therapeutic effects are attributed to multi-target immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties characteristic of botanical extracts used in TCM.
