It is traditionally indicated for respiratory conditions, functioning to tonify the kidney and lung to alleviate asthma and chronic cough. The formulation is typically used for patients presenting with Lung-Spleen Qi Deficiency (Fei-Pi-Qi-Xu) syndrome. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was investigated in clinical trials for its potential to aid in the recovery phase of novel coronavirus pneumonia, specifically targeting the rehabilitation of lung function and overall vitality in post-acute patients.
