Overview

Guanazodine is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the class of guanidines. Its IUPAC name is N‑[(azocan‑2‑yl)methyl]guanidine, and it has a molecular formula of C9H20N4. Guanazodine has been investigated as an antihypertensive agent, with its primary mechanism believed to involve inhibition of sympathetic nervous system activity through adrenergic neuron blockade. It reached up to phase II clinical trials for at least one investigational indication but does not appear to be approved or widely marketed as a pharmaceutical product[6][8]. Brand names include Sanegit and Sanegyt.
