Overview

GUB-UCN2 is a long-acting peptide analog of urocortin 2 (UCN2) being developed by Gubra A/S for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus. It functions as a selective agonist of the corticotropin-releasing factor receptor 2 (CRFR2). Activation of CRFR2 has been shown to enhance glucose uptake in skeletal muscle, improve insulin sensitivity, and potentially influence energy expenditure and body composition. GUB-UCN2 is designed with an extended half-life to allow for infrequent dosing. It is currently undergoing first-in-human Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and metabolic effects in healthy individuals and patients with metabolic disorders.
