Overview
GUB014295 (also known as GUBamy) is a long-acting amylin analog in development for the treatment of obesity and overweight. It is designed for once-weekly subcutaneous administration. The drug acts as an agonist at both amylin and calcitonin receptors, mimicking the natural hormone amylin to suppress appetite, reduce food intake, and delay gastric emptying. This mechanism leads to dose-dependent weight loss in clinical studies. In Phase 1 trials, it demonstrated a favorable safety profile with mostly mild gastrointestinal side effects and showed sustained body weight reduction over six weeks of observation. The compound was discovered by Gubra and is being co-developed with AbbVie under a global license agreement[1][2][3][4][5][6][8].
