Overview
Guben Qushi Huayu Granules (also known as Guben Qushi Huayu Formula, GQHF, or GBQS) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine under the guidance of scholar Lu Chuanjian. Formulated as oral granules, it is under clinical investigation for the treatment and prevention of relapse in patients with plaque psoriasis (psoriasis vulgaris). The formula's therapeutic mechanism involves the modulation of Small Proline-Rich Protein 1A (SPRR1A), which is implicated in epidermal barrier dysfunction, as well as activity along the IL-23/Th17 inflammatory pathway. Calycosin has been identified as one of its key active components. In clinical trials, Guben Qushi Huayu Granules are being evaluated as a maintenance and relapse-prevention therapy following successful induction with the IL-17A inhibitor ixekizumab in adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.
