Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Guben Tongluo Fang (固本通络方), also known as the Guben Tongluo formula or GTF, is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescription. It is primarily used for its protective effects in immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN), an autoimmune kidney disease characterized by IgA immune complex deposition and mesangial cell proliferation. The mechanism of action involves modulation of the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway in lamina propria B lymphocytes, which helps regulate immune responses and reduce pathological changes associated with IgAN. Studies indicate that it can decrease levels of pro-inflammatory markers and modulate immune cell activity[1][2][4]. The formula is composed of multiple herbal ingredients typical to TCM practice; however, the exact composition may vary by manufacturer.
