Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Guchong is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Nanjing Dadong Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. for the treatment of ovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding and menorrhagia. Based on the classical TCM formula "Guchong Tang," it is designed to tonify the Qi, strengthen the Spleen, and consolidate the Chong meridian to stop excessive menstrual bleeding. The formulation typically consists of a complex mixture of herbal and animal-derived ingredients, including *Atractylodes macrocephala*, *Astragalus membranaceus*, *Cornus officinalis*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, *Os Draconis*, *Oyster shell*, *Sepiae Endoconcha*, *Rubia cordifolia*, and *Trachycarpus fortunei*. Mechanistically, Guchong is thought to regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis, modulate the expression of estrogen and progesterone receptors in the endometrium, and exert hemostatic effects by promoting platelet aggregation and local vasoconstriction.
