Overview
Guedes-Pinto Paste without antibiotic is a modified formulation of the traditional Guedes-Pinto Paste, used as an endodontic filling material for primary (deciduous) teeth. The original paste typically contains iodoform, camphorated paramonochlorophenol (PMCC), prednisolone, and rifamycin. In this antibiotic-free version, rifamycin is omitted due to regulatory restrictions on antibiotics in some regions. The remaining components—iodoform (an antimicrobial agent), camphorated paramonochlorophenol (a disinfectant and antiseptic), and prednisolone (a corticosteroid anti-inflammatory)—work together to provide antimicrobial action and reduce inflammation within the root canal system of primary teeth. This formulation aims to maintain clinical efficacy in pulpectomy procedures while avoiding the use of antibiotics[3][5][7].
