Overview
Guhong Injection is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) combination product developed by Shanxi Buchang Pharmaceutical. It is composed of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) extract and aceglutamide. The drug is primarily indicated for the treatment of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases, including cerebral infarction, stroke, and coronary heart disease. The safflower component, particularly its active constituent hydroxysafflor yellow A (HSYA), is known for its blood-activating and stasis-resolving properties, acting as an inhibitor of platelet aggregation and providing anti-inflammatory effects. Aceglutamide serves as a neuroprotective agent by improving brain metabolism and protecting neurons from ischemic damage. Guhong Injection is widely used in clinical practice in China for managing ischemic vascular conditions.
