Overview
GuiErBai (GEB) is a traditional Chinese medicine (Miao nationality) compound preparation developed for the treatment of cervical cancer. It is composed of extracts from *Podophyllum* (the rhizome of *Dysosma versipellis*), *Dictamnus dasycarps*, and *Angelica dahurica*. The primary active chemical constituents of GuiErBai include podophyllotoxin (PTOX), imperatorin, isoimperatorin, and *Angelica dahurica* alkaloids. GuiErBai exhibits robust anti-tumor activity against cervical cancer both in vitro and in vivo by inducing cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase, promoting apoptosis, and triggering autophagy in tumor cells. It also elevates reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and mitochondrial membrane potential, while downregulating the expression of CD34, VEGF, and caspase-3 in tumor tissues.
