Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Guifu Dihuang pill is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula designed to warm and tonify kidney yang. It is composed of eight herbs: prepared Rehmannia root, Cornus fruit, Yam, Poria, Alisma, Moutan bark, Cinnamon bark, and prepared Aconite. The formula is a modification of the Liuwei Dihuang pill, specifically adding Cinnamon and Aconite to address yang deficiency. It is widely used in China for treating symptoms such as cold extremities, lower back pain, frequent urination (especially nocturia), and impotence. Clinical research, including Phase 4 trials, has evaluated its efficacy in managing nocturia associated with kidney yang deficiency syndrome in elderly populations.
