Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Guilu Erxian Liquid (GE-L) is a liquid extract derived from Guilu Erxian Glue (GEG), a traditional Chinese herbal medicine composed of *Cornu Cervi* (deer antler), *Carapax et Plastrum Testudinis* (tortoise shell), *Radix Ginseng* (ginseng), and *Fructus Lycii* (wolfberry). It is primarily investigated for the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) and related joint conditions. The preparation exhibits anti-inflammatory and chondroprotective properties by significantly reducing the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. Preclinical studies in mice have shown that GE-L can attenuate cartilage destruction, reduce osteolytic lesions, and alleviate mechanical hypersensitivity, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic agent for post-traumatic osteoarthritis.
