Overview
Guiqi Huoxue Jiaonang (also known as Guiqi Huoxue capsule) is a patented traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) developed and manufactured by Lunan Hope Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of Lunan Pharmaceutical Group). It is formulated from 13 traditional Chinese medicinal herbs, including Astragalus membranaceus (Huangqi), Angelica sinensis (Danggui), White Peony Root (Baishao), processed Polygonum multiflorum (Zhiheshouwu), Lycium barbarum (Gouqizi), Viscum coloratum (Huqisheng), Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum (Lurong), Drynaria fortunei (Gushuibu), Clematis chinensis (Weilingxian), Speranskia tuberculata (Tougucao), artificial musk (Rengongshexiang), Pueraria lobata (Gegen), and Ligusticum chuanxiong (Chuanxiong). The capsule is approved in China and included in the National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL) for the treatment of cervical spondylosis, specifically cervical spondylotic radiculopathy (nerve root type cervical spondylosis) presenting with liver and kidney deficiency and qi deficiency with blood stasis syndrome. It acts by tonifying qi, nourishing the liver and kidneys, promoting blood circulation, and dredging collaterals to alleviate neck and shoulder pain, numbness, and stiffness.
